Hi, I’m Valerie
I live in California, grew up in Minneapolis, and spent the 2 decades between in NYC. I think I’ll move back some day but for now I an enamored with the Bay area. I also love to travel and visit new places, try on a new culture for a bit to imagine what living there would be like.
I’ve been a wellness enthusiast my whole life. When I prioritize my wellness I find I am more more engaged, confident and compassionate towards myself and others. I’m a better person, mother and friend when I take care of myself. When I feel my best I go for a hike or plan another vacation, I do this when I feel less than my best too.
That love of wellness has developed into a passion for teaching fitness. I began instructing in Marin over a decade ago- in studio, through zoom, at home, and on retreat in places such as Morocco, Sardinia and Sedona.
As a teacher, I am creative, fun, lively and precise. I like to discover ways to keep things flowing so you can stay in touch with motivation. During a class or session I generously share my midwestern charm and proudly use my NYC grit, with an emphasis on California positivity.
I’d love to share the knowledge I’ve gleaned and help sift through the fads and modalities to find what helps you be your best. I know well the obstacles to fitness- I too have been injured, pregnant, busy and tired. I have also tried something new, done something scary and continued the path over and over. I hope to use my experience to help you ignite your curiosity about your best self and devise strategies to continue working towards that.
I believe the best workout for you is the one you’ll keep doing. And if it’s fun, there’s a better chance you’ll keep doing it.
